Liam's Balloons

This is a picture for Liam's pre-school from Monday.

Liam's balloons: This was so beautiful. We all sent yellow balloons up to Emily, Liam's mom who passed away last week. That is Liam in the stripes.

Oh wow, how beautiful! I love it. I can just see Em's smile and hear her laughter as she plays with all those balloons.

I am going to do it with Avery and Harriet this weekend.

My love and light to you all,
Alex

Liam’s balloons brought to my mind this poem:

“Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds—and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of—wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there
I’ve chased the shouting wind along and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long delirious burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace,
Where never lark, or even eagle, flew;
And, while with silent, lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.”
- John Gillespie Magee Jr.

I will always hold Emily’s inspirational words of courage, love, hope, and grace close to my heart. She has touched my life as she has so many countless others.

Sending my love to Emily’s beautiful family,
Ann
